Food Safety & Research Laboratory Wins Arkansas Quality Award
The Tyson Food Safety & Research Laboratory in Springdale, Arkansas, was recognized by the Governor’s Quality Award Program for Performance Excellence during the 14th Annual Awards Celebration recently in the Wally Allen Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. More than 250 business and civic leaders from throughout Arkansas attended the celebration.
The laboratory received the Achievement Award for demonstrating significant progress in building sound and notable processes though commitment and practice of quality principles to achieve performance excellence. This award is the third tier of a four-tiered program with the highest level being the Governor’s Award.
The Governor’s Quality Award program was developed to provide opportunities for all organizations in the state to measure their progress in the journey of performance excellence. The award is to be used by all types of businesses, health-care facilities, schools, government agencies, churches, and all other kinds of organizations interested in improving quality, productivity, and financial effectiveness. The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is used as the basis for the Arkansas program.
