About Willie
Willie Barber has worked in the chicken industry for 20 years and for Tyson Foods as the Manager of Consumer Information Services since 1989.
She has always had an interest in cooking and food preparation — usually choosing chicken because of its versatility and low cost. As part of her job as Manager of Consumer Information Services, Willie talks with Tyson consumers and customers by telephone and the Internet. Her diverse workday often includes finding a lost recipe for a consumer, helping a college student with a project, researching a product for possible allergens for a concerned mother and explaining product nutritional information.
The Tyson Consumer Information Services staff consists of ten representatives who respond to calls from the 800 number, letters, and e-mails. They are supported by Tyson's expert resources that include doctorates in chemistry, microbiology and food sciences and nutrition and the Tyson Quality Assurance and Marketing departments.
