Chicken Teriyaki
Try this delicious recipe courtesy of Former Olympian Shannon Miller and Tyson Foods. The sweet and sour teriyaki sauce really spices up the chicken. Serve as an appetizer or as a main entree.
Ingredients.........................................................................
4
Tyson® Fresh Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, cut into one inch chunks
3 tablespoons
sesame seeds, toasted
2 tablespoons
reduced-sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons
honey
1 teaspoon
sesame oil
1 teaspoon
ginger, minced
1 clove
garlic, or powdered to taste
1/4 teaspoon
black pepper
Cooking Instructions..........................................................
- In a medium bowl, combine toasted sesame seeds, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and pepper. Mix this marinade well. Set aside 2 or 2 ½ tablespoons of the marinade. Add the chicken chunks to the remaining marinade in the bowl and stir to coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Preheat the broiler. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place on the broiler pan. Discard marinade left in bowl. Broil the chicken about 5 inches from heat, basting with the reserved marinade and turning the chicken once, half way through cooking time. Cook about 12 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in the center.
- Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve over brown rice with a side of steamed vegetables.
