Crispy Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Drumsticks are ideal for kids. They come with their own “handle,” and they’re packed with flavor plus essential complete proteins. For grown-up kids, figure this recipe makes three servings.

Ingredients

  • 6 Chicken Drumsticks
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup fat-free egg product or 2 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup baked potato chips, coarsely crushed


Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Place flour in large resealable plastic bag. Blend egg product and water in small shallow dish. Place crushed potato chips in a separate shallow dish.
  2. Add drumsticks to flour in bag; shake to coat evenly. One at a time, dip drumsticks in egg mixture; coat evenly with potato chips and place on baking sheet.
  3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until chicken is done (internal temp 180°F).

Serving Suggestion: For a flavor change, add 1 tablespoon dry taco (or other flavor) seasoning mix to potato chips. Or use barbecue-flavor chips. Mix well before coating chicken.  Serve with hot green beans and fruit. Refrigerate leftovers.

Substitution Tip: You can also use Chicken Wing sections with this recipe.  To substitute Tyson® Individually Frozen Chicken Drumsticks, rinse off ice glaze and pat dry before following recipe directions.  Increase cooking time by about one-third.
