Hunan Spareribs

Ingredients

  • Fresh Spareribs, about 4 lb. total
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger root, grated
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, ground
  • 1 teaspoon coriander, ground
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes


Cooking Instructions

  1. Set up grill for indirect cooking: For gas grill, preheat all burners on high. Turn one burner off; place food over the "off" burner. Reset remaining burner(s) to medium-hot. Close lid. For charcoal grill, arrange hot coals around outer edge of grill; place disposable pan in open space; place food over open area. Close lid. Heat to medium-hot.
  2. Cut spareribs into serving-sized portions. Stir together remaining ingredients to make basting sauce.
  3. Place ribs on grill over indirect heat. Cover and grill 2 hours or until done (internal temp 155°F) and tender, basting with sauce on all surfaces during last 30 to 45 minutes.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with steamed rice and Oriental-style vegetable blend. Refrigerate leftovers.
