Saucy, Spicy Chicken Wings Recipe

Since the first serving of Buffalo wings in the mid-’60s (frequently attributed to the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York), their popularity has skyrocketed. Saucy, spicy wings, served with a cool blue cheese dressing, have become a national obsession.

Saucy  Spicy Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken Wings or 2 pounds $name
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed


Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Cover rack of broiler pan with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cut off wing tips; discard. Cut remaining wing into two parts at joint. Combine ketchup, oil, vinegar, honey, hot sauce and pepper flakes in medium bowl. Dip chicken into mixture, coating well. Place on foil-lined pan.
  3. Bake wings, turning once, 35 minutes or until done (internal temp 170°F) and edges begin to crisp.

Serving Suggestion: Serve wings with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks. Refrigerate leftovers.
