Combine beer, preserves, and salt in a large sauce pot.
Heat mixture over medium-high heat for 12-15 minutes or until liquid has reduced by half.
Chill liquid quickly by simply filling a large bowl with ice and cold water. Pour reduced liquid into a container and place in the ice bath. The container should be level with the ice. Stir the liquid to distribute the heat to the cold areas until the food cools down evenly. Once cooled, pour liquid over drumsticks and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat outdoor grill to a low heat setting.
Remove drumsticks from marinade; reserve liquid and heat in a sauce pot over the grill.
Place drumsticks onto the heated grill. Turn drumsticks using tongs; baste with reserved liquid.
Cover and grill for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 180oF.
