Preheat grill to medium. Lightly shape ground beef into eight 1/2-inch thick patties.
Grill burgers, uncovered and turning occasionally, 11 to 13 minutes to medium doneness (internal temp 160°F) or until no longer pink in center. About 1 minute before burgers are done, top with cheese stars.
