Fresh Whole Chicken Family Roaster

This tender, whole chicken makes for a real feast.

How To Cook


Conventional Oven

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove neck and giblets.
2. Rinse chicken inside and out with cold running water, pat dry with paper towels.
3. Sprinkle chicken inside and out with salt and pepper to taste. Check the Bird Alert Thermometer to see that it is completely inserted. Place chicken, breast side up, on rack in roasting pan. ††Stuff if desired. Tie legs together.
Roaster Weight         Approximate Cooking Time
5 to 6 Lbs.                         1 3/4 to 2 1/4 hours
6 to 7 Lbs.                         2 to 2 1/2 hours
††Add 20 to 30 minutes cooking time for stuffed roaster.
4. Remove roaster from oven and discard thermometer. Allow your roaster to stand 10 to 15 minutes for easy carving.
